If a verb takes a complement of degree, “比” can be put before the verb or the complement.
A 比B + Verb + 得 + Adjective
e.g.
他比我跑得快。(Tā bǐ wǒ pǎo de kuài.) He runs faster than me.
我比他考得好。(Wǒ bǐ tā kǎo dé hǎo.) I did better than him in the exam.
A + Verb + 得 + 比 B + Adjective
e.g.
他跑得比我快。(Tā pǎo de bǐ wǒ kuài.) He runs faster than me.
我考得比他好。(Wǒ kǎo de bǐ tā hǎo.) I did better than him in the test.
The negation form:
A 没(有)B + Verb + 得 + Adjective
A + Verb + 得 + 没(有)B + Adjective
e.g.
他没(有)我跑得快。(Tā pǎo de méiyǒu wǒ kuài.) I run faster than him.
我考得没(有)他好。(Wǒ kǎo de méiyǒu tā hǎo.) He did better than me in the test.
A 不比B + Verb + 得 + Adjective
A + Verb + 得 + 不比B + Adjective
e.g.
他不比我跑得快。(Tā bùbǐ wǒ pǎo de kuài..) He doesn’t run faster than me.
>> Two possibilities: We might run at the same speed or I run faster than him.
我考得不比他好。(Wǒ kǎo de bùbǐ tā hǎo.) I didn’t do better than him on the test.
>> Two possibilities: We might perform the same in the test or he did better than I did.
A比B + 多/少/早/晚 + verb + quantity phrase
When stating the comparison results with the exact quantity, we use the word like “多/少” or “早/晚” before the verb and put the quantity phrase after it.
e.g.
我比他早走一天。(Wǒ bǐ tā zǎo zǒu yītiān.) I walked a day earlier than him.
他比我少学习一个小时。(Tā bǐ wǒ shǎo xuéxí yīgè xiǎoshí.) He studies an hour less than me.

To whom it may concern:
I am Dai Lee, the very beginner of learning Chinese.
The first complain is that there are 5 excercies of Comparative Sentences(4). But these 5 excercises don’t have an unique marker or number. It is very time consumming to find one that I left. This lackness of unique number that was designated for each excercies are also applicable at diifferent sections.
Second, there are wrong explanations not matching to the semple sentences. 1. In Comparative Sentences (4), number 12, “I think your Chinese…. 2. In Comparative Sentencces (4), the numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, and 12 have explanations not-matching to the semple sentences.
These should be reviewed.
So far, I learn a lot.
I thank you for these vast study materials.
