why is ‘ge’ after ‘zhe shi’
Because yo need a verb
Literally translated, zhe shi wen ti means this is THE problem. Zhe shi ge wen ti means this is A problem.
It’s a measure word for sizes of common things. It indicates singularity. You see it in zhe ge zhaopian (this picture), geren (individual), etc.
‘ge ‘个is the measure word for’ wen ti ‘问题。

Each noun thing needs to have a corresponding “article” words before it. In this case, “article” of noun “wenti” is “ge”
