“所” is an auxiliary, which is used before a transitive verb to form a nominal phrase. It’s usually used in written Chinese.
“所” can add a monosyllable verb.

据我所知,这笔生意有很多公司都想做。(Jù wǒ suǒ zhī, zhè bǐ shēngyi yǒu hěn duō gōngsī dōu xiǎng zuò.) As far as I know, many companies want to do this business.
你别担心,我会尽我所能帮助你。(Nǐ bié dānxīn, wǒ huì jìn wǒ suǒ néng bāngzhù nǐ.) Don’t worry, I will do my best to help you.
果然不出我们所料,他俩谈恋爱了!(Guǒrán bù chū wǒmen suǒ liào, tā liǎ tán liàn’ài le!) Just as we expected, the two of them are dating!

他们现在所用的还是老方法。(Tāmen xiànzài suǒ yòng de hái shì lǎo fāngfǎ.) They are still using the old methods.

老人们所讲的道理很多都是有用的。(Lǎorén men suǒ jiǎng de dàolǐ hěn duō dōu shì yǒuyòng de.) Much of the advice given by the elderly is useful.
这次出差所产生的费用公司全部报销。(Zhè cì chūchāi suǒ chǎnshēng de fèiyòng gōngsī quánbù bàoxiāo.) All the expenses incurred during this business trip will be reimbursed by the company.
这位先生是大家所熟悉的一位著名演员。(Zhè wèi xiānshēng shì dàjiā suǒ shúxī de yī wèi zhùmíng yǎnyuán.) This gentleman is a well-known actor familiar to everyone.
