好吗, 可以吗, 怎么样, 行吗 are often used at the end of a sentence to ask one’s opinion. And the first half of the sentence is often an idea or suggestion. Note that it can’t be used in the things that have happened already.
Idea / Suggestion + 好吗/可以吗/怎么样/行吗 ?
e.g.
A:中午我们一起吃饭,好吗?(Zhōngwǔ wǒmen yīqǐ chīfàn, hǎo ma? ) Let’s have dinner together at noon, okay?
B:好啊!我们吃沙拉吧。(Hǎo a! Wǒmen chī shālā ba.) Okay! Let’s eat salad.
A:你帮我写作业,可以吗?(Nǐ bāng wǒ xiě zuòyè, kěyǐ ma?) Can you help me with my homework?
B:不可以!你自己写。(Bù kěyǐ! Nǐ zìjǐ xiě.) No! You write it yourself.
A:我想买这本书,行吗?(Wǒ xiǎng mǎi zhè běn shū, xíng ma?) I want to buy this book, okay?
B:不行,这本书太贵了。(Bùxíng, zhè běn shū tài guìle.) No, this book is too expensive.
A:明天我们八点见面,怎么样?(Míngtiān wǒmen bā diǎn jiànmiàn, zěnme yàng?) How about we meet at eight tomorrow?
B:没问题,八点见!(Méi wèntí, bā diǎn jiàn!) No problem, see you at eight!
We can also use the affirmative-negative form to ask about one’s opinion.
Idea / Suggestion + 好不好 / 可不可以 / 行不行 ?
e.g.
A: 我们晚上看电影,好不好?(Wǒmen wǎnshàng kàn diànyǐng, hǎo bù hǎo?) Let’s watch a movie at night, shall we?
B: 好的,看哪部电影?(Hǎo de, kàn nǎ bù diànyǐng?) OK, which movie to watch?
A: 我们看最新的电影,行不行?(Wǒmen kàn zuìxīn de diànyǐng, xíng bù xíng?) Let’s watch the latest movie, shall we?
B: 行,你决定。(Xíng, nǐ juédìng.) OK, you decide.
A: 我们先一起吃饭,再看电影,可不可以?(Wǒmen xiān yīqǐ chīfàn, zài kàn diànyǐng, kě bù kěyǐ?) Let’s have dinner together and then watch a movie, shall we?
B: 当然可以。(Dāngrán kěyǐ.) sure.
