The last measure word could be omitted in oral Chinese when talking about money.

e.g.

七角四(分)(qī jiǎo sì fēn) / 七毛四(分)(qī máo sì fēn)

0.74 kuai

 

八元四(角)(bā yuán sì jiǎo) / 八块四(毛)(bā kuài sì máo)

8.4 kuai

 

八元零九(分)(bā yuán líng jiǔ fēn) / 八块零九(分)(bā kuài líng jiǔ fēn)

8.09 kuai

 

八元八角八(分)(bā yuán bā jiǎo bā fēn) / 八块八毛八(分)(bā kuài bā máo bā fēn)

8.88 kuai

 

一百五十(元)/ 一百五十(块)(yībǎi wǔshí yuán)/ yībǎi wǔshí kuài)

150 yuan

 

Note that the number can’t be followed by “钱” directly.

e.g.

A: 这件衣服多少钱?(Zhè jiàn yīfú duōshǎo qián?) How much is this dress?

B:三百块(钱)。/ 三百(块钱)。(Sānbǎi kuài qián.) Three hundred yuan

✘ 三百钱。
